Xenon Nova Light Source

KSVEA's most popular light source, the Xenon Nova Light Source 175 Watt- 201315-20

Light sources

Xenon light sources offer excellent color reproduction for video endoscopy. They have become the gold standard in endoscopy due primarily to the quality of light which most closely approximates pure sunlight. A 150 to 300 watt xenon light source is recommended for general purpose veterinary endoscopy when using video.

Tungsten-halogen lamps are similar in intensity and color to household incandescent light bulbs. These light sources are relatively inexpensive and are frequently used in veterinary practice. Although they will not provide the same quality of light as xenon, halogen light sources can be acceptable under conditions where light intensity and color reproduction is not critical.
